  1. I would try to find a used Fender Mustang 1 at GC or on Craigslist. I'd be willing to bet you could score one for $50. I bought one new for $100 and it sounds great with headphones. You can program a bunch of models, it has an aux port so you can play along to backing tracks, and you can do direct recording. The mini amps such as the Roland, Fender, or Vox are also light, inexpensive, and have much of the same functionality of the Mustang 1.

  3. +1 If you read his biography, you can see that Mayer pulls a lot of the expression and feeling in his music from his troubled past. That's a deep wellspring of angst that makes his blues so much more authentic. No joke man, things are rough in Connecticut... Taxes and {censored}!
  4. Well, the {censored}storm apparently hit: http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/stopthepresses/106715/john-mayer-breaks-down-in-tears-after-public-apology/
  5. My buddy bought one and I tried it out. Very cool product and easy to use. I would recommend it.
  6. Nothing major...12 pack of Dunlop strings for $30, 2 DeltaLabs pedal for $35. I got what I wanted out of it.
