Damn! If that thing was bubble wrapped and double boxed with appropriate packing, they must have dropped it from a pretty significant height! I am very sorry to see that mang. Boogies are pretty damn tough, so I am betting a new headshell and tubes should fix it right up. Did you take pics when opening it? Have you started a claims process? Regarding tubes, SED's work very well in Mark series amps if you do not want to buy Boogie branded (I believe the higher end Boogie tubes are re labled SED's, but could be wrong). As far as preamp tubes, my personal preference is: Tung Sol re issue 12ax7 in v1 JJ ecc83s in v2 and v3 Chinese 8th generation in v4 and v5 Good luck with everything Aineias:thu:
  3. Do you have an aversion to used gear:confused:
  4. Can't pick just one: Everything in these pics is new this year: This one is not here yet, but it qualifies too;)
  5. I tried that email address and Megadeth90210 replied

I would strongly suggest you do a search for mark iii if you haven't already. There is a ton of info in this forum comparing and contrasting the various Mark series amps. In general: Mark IV, most versatile on the fly with the smoothest lead channel and a very good clean channel Mark III (various stripes... I don't put too much emphasis on the whole stripe thing, they all sound pretty siilar to me) Very aggressive lead channel or very good clean channel. You can dial it in to get good tones on both on the fly, but it is a bit of a compromise Mark IIC+ Best lead channel to some. Some say you can get close enough with either of the other 2 to satisfy you.

If there was a way for me to get it back, I would do it. I know you will regret letting it go if you do. It's special. Note: Sorry to the guys that want to buy it, but Tony's a friend and I'm just being friendly.
  8. Originally posted by DannyM Yes, it seems like J.B. talked him out of selling it. I am leaning that way. I think it is kinda funny that JB is the voice of reason:D

Sorry if this is coming off badly, but it seems like you've been through every amp, and you're going to the list, 2 or 3 times over again lol Evan Not coming off badly. Hell, I have owned multiple versions of more amps that I can remember;)
