  1. Found it, courtesy of one of the GJ regulars. Sorry to dissapoint, but he's not teh bant. (Though that thread is full of banned forumites) To be fair, it's a two year old thread, and more full of forum drama than lulz. I've let you guys down. There's this little gem though.
  2. +1 we wanna know:poke: The search function isn't being at all helpful, so I asked if anyone over there might have a link to the thread. It was a while back, so I don't remember exactly what went down, alas. I remember it was pretty -worthy and kinda bizarre, but that's to be expected.
  3. He actually showed up in Guitar Jam once in response to a thread making fun of him. IIRC he got teh bant.
  4. I have never posted in this thread... until now.
  5. And I kind of doubt that people into hardcore really consider the current crop of bands referred to as "metalcore" as having jack crap to do with hardcore. KSE sound like a melodic death metal band with sing along choruses and lots of palm mutes, as do basically all of those bands. I highly doubt that people in those sorts of bands were listening to Minor Threat or Gorilla Biscuits or something, and then woke up one day and made a band like that. I think it's funny how from one generation of metal to the next, the new stuff is always "false metal." All the stuff people think is real metal now was called "false metal" before, and the same will happen again. And I really like how metal heads are the people so quick to call the stuff metalcore. It's like they're acknowledging that it sounds like metal, but then disowning it just because they don't like it. Quoted for truth. The "metalcore" tag is the new "nu-metal". It's a meaningless tag for metal scenesters to apply to bands- especially commercially sucessful ones- they don't like to indicate their tastes are somehow superior. I could care less about "metalcore". I'm picky about my metal; I like what I like and {censored} what anyone else thinks, and that stuff just doesn't show up on my radar as interesting. But the metal scene elitism thing is just beyond silly. As a metal fan, being associated with people that take so seriously things that are often completely over-the-top, pretentious, and objectively ridiculous (black metal, anyone?) is embarassing.
