  1. This is a recording without using any microphones. Kinda sloppy but you hear the sound of the under saddle transducer. http://home.sw.rr.com/edsmix/muse2.mp3 I like the sound of microphones better, but you really need a quiet room to get a good sound with microphones. I'm working on that. Thanks for the compliment, hiwatt33.
  2. Hello Kaifusha and pippyman. The Guitar I use is a Takamine Santa Fe ESF40C. (real sweet guitar) and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It is the NEX body style (like a mini jumbo) and has a solid cedar top with mahogany back and sides. I use a thumb pick and the first three fingers I use the nails. It has electronics in it (CT-4B) and they sound pretty good but they still have a piezo sound or a electronic sound. Microphones sound much better. However if doing live performance the electronics are really the only way to go to avoid feedback.
  3. Hi metalhead! Since I am new this forum and to the idea of recording, I don't know if your reply was sarcastic or praise:D !!! But I will take it as praise. I was thinking that maybe some others might like to actually hear what the combination of equipment I have sounds like so they can make a purchase without questioning all they read in PRO-Recording circles. I was suprised that after I made my purchases lotts of forums had negative things to say about the Terratec EWS88MT, something about the converters being noisy. Then all I read about Behringer was it is CRAP. However I have to say I am very pleased with the Behringer UB2442FX-Pro and the Terratec EWS88MT. It is as good as the high dollar stuff that my friend uses in his Pro-Studio (for what I wanted to do) and were talking about some very high dollar pro stuff. Ok maybe not as good, it ain't no Ghost console or Earthworks microphones, but I am not bugging my friend and using his time and equipment for free after hours anymore. He's a nice guy. I still want some more microphones and need to treat the den to some sound proofing and such. But I am very pleased with the results so far.
  4. This is a little diddy I recorded, supposed to be a Neil intro, but..... http://home.sw.rr.com/edsmix/muse.mp3 This was recorded using a Studio Projects B1 microphone about 6 inched from the bridge. Two Shure SM 57's in a X/Y setting about 18 inches away pointing at the front edge of the sound hole. The microphones were connected to a Behringer UB2442FX-Pro mixer. Using the direct outs only. Another words all I used were the Behringer mic-preamps. The direct outs were connected to a Terratec EWS88MT and multi tracked in Cool Edit 2.1. I always hear about how crappy Behringer microphone preamps are and how you need a high dollar microphone. I bought all the microphones new and none cost over $80.00 each. I think is sounds pretty good when considering my lack of recording and guitar playing skill. I hope I got the ftp crap right, jeeze what a pain that has been. Ed
