  1. My new album is out today. Really proud of it. 70's glamrock beats, old Eko Tiger organ sounds, spring reverby danelectro guitars, lofi/midfi, bumpy drums, melodies, noise, fuzz, dirt ... I think there's some really good songs on it. I wouldn't mind if you set apart some minutes and give it a listen ;-) And if you really want to possess it, it's available as download/CD/black vinyl and deluxe edition in colored vinyl plus a 7"inch split-single with surfband "Juleah". Have a nice day you nice people! http://theshea.bandcamp.com/album/disappear
  2. yeah, my fender champ 600 only gets used for two sound: danelectro 56 -> champ with original speaker -> lo input ->volume 8-10 = gets me some nasty, fuzzy sixties garagerock sound. and sometimes i run the vox over the top boost pedal into the champ -> 2x10" celestion cab = nice crunchy, voxy sound. but that's about it. the pathfinder is a much more mature amp.
  3. cleans are GREAT on my pathfinder 15r ministack 2x10, but i hear some strange artificial noise when set on crunch during the fade-out of chords, boh ... all in all a very good amp. i used it to record as well and people always can't believe that it's just that transistor amp.
  4. hello, anyone there? would the control panel from a pathfinder 15r combo fit into my pathfinder ministack head? i need to replace my broken one really bad.
  5. so, my noise problem got worse, now i hear it all the time ... here are audio examples of what i mean: http://soundcloud.com/zinzin/pathfinder2-noise http://soundcloud.com/zinzin/pathfinder-noise i looked at the joint where i pulled out the two leds and everything is fine ... boh ... it sound just like some digital clipping. really bad ...
  6. i will try to post some audio samples this afternoon, so you can hear for yourself.
  7. i did the led mod too yesterday, well, sort of, as i pulled them out just like houseofglass21. it seemed to have become louder and with more headroom. but mine has still the nasty noise when overdriven chords are fading out due to being burned when used without the 110->220v transformer. my question: would a normal pathfinder 15r combo fit into my pathfinder 15r head? i am thinking about changing it if it fits.
  8. what do you guys think of the vox cambridge 15 (the "new" one, not the old one)? i had one yeeeeears ago and can't remember how it was, all i know was it had one tube innit and i sold it after not to long ... how does it compare to the pathfinder? can't remember ... i'm getting old ...
  9. i have the mini head and combo, i liked it a lot before some c@nt tried it with european 220 volt and forgeting to put inbetween the US 110 -> 220 volt transformer (i bought it from the US so the vox had 110 volt) and burned it!!!!!! i made it repair but it makes some nasty noise now when overdriven and i let a chord fade out ... to bad ...
  10. my new project: LIQUID GAS. have just finished the album and you can download it for free on www.myspace.com/liquidgas it's shoegaze music with beatles melody ... or so ... all done with epi casino, fender champion 600, rode nt2-a, rode nt5, universal audio la-610, golden age project pre 73 and lot's of pedals! enjoy and let me know feedback!
  11. my finished cover of JOHN LENNON'S "WORKING CLASS HERO" ======================================== all done by myself: playing, singing, recording, mixing. i am rather satisfied, would although like to hear if you have some comments/suggestions. i am a firm believer that you should record it as it should sound later. that's why i made only small resonance corrections with EQ at mixing. only artificial reverb was done with the piano. recording: ac.git - rode nt5 at 12. fret, rode nt2a farer away to get some room ambience, all into LA-610 vocal - rode nt5 into LA-610 with little compression piano - logic express yamaha piano mixing: ac.git - compressed with the FNR AUDIO RNC vocal - logic tape delay and liquid mix amek angela EQ piano - liquid mix amek angela EQ and liquid mix LA-2A compressor stereo sum - liquid mix with neve 33609 and liquid mix Chandler Limited Passive TG Channel MKII Abbey Road EQ 100Hz +2dB / 12kHz +2dB here it is: https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=batch_download&batch_id=TzY3a3ZEMGNPSHgzZUE9PQ
  12. is it risky to record a guitar amp with a condenser mic when playing the amp really really loud? and having the mic rather close (10-15 cm)? would i need a pop filter?
  13. this is my "Strawberry Fields Forever" cover - yeah, i know, this is risky - but i did it! http://www.cms.consisto.it/concms/AspUpload/liederszene.net/downloads/321_Strawberry%20Fields%20Forever.mp3 what do you think? i tried to rework it so that it could be played by a 4-piece-guitar band in a live situation. what do you think of the recording quality?
  14. Originally posted by elbromisto Play with eq's, or tell me to dry up and blow away. How did you record it? thanks. i "played" a bit with the EQs last weekend and cleared up the voice a bit. recording: my drummer records his drums first with i think 4 or 5 mikes going into a mixer and then into cubase. its all mixed on the spot, so unfortunately no chance of changing the drumsounds afterwards. i record my guitar part with a vox tonelab SE right into my MAC using cubase. its very simple and cheap.
  15. thanks to all for your comments. you are right: it is rather lo-fi and rough and the performance has some weak points but i think for a demo it's ok. i will try and make the vocals clearer, maybe take some of the reverb of and use more compression. yeah, the riff is not a monster of originality, but it suits the song well and sounds great to me. thanks @ boosh for the CCR reference! when i played that little guitar fill at 0:55 i was totally thinking "wow! john fogerty would be proud of me!!!" but i cannot agree with you in making the song shorter. i really think that the coda is needed, the repeated melodic singing and the little guitar solo complete with handclaps do add a perfect outro and form a nice little popsong. that's the needed variation in the song. thanks again to all. much appreciated!
