  1. Hmmm... 68-69 Dodge Charger (yeah I know, Cooter and Daisy want their car back.) 93-95 Mazda Rx7 type R (These look really cool with the right body kit) 69 Chevy Chevelle 67-69 Chevy Camero 08 Dodge Magnum SRT8 (the manwagon) 69 Pontiac GTO (I like the look of this year the best) 66 AC cobra Super Snake 97-04 C5 Chevy Corvette (very similar to the FD Rx7) 58-59 Chevy Apache (possibly the best looking pickup truck ever made) 8-11 Dodge Challenger SRT8 (I love that 60s/70s retro look)
  2. The problem is that metal for the most part stagnates at the lyrical and conceptual level as the musicians age. It seems ridiculous to be singing about drinking blood fro a skull and worhipping Satan when your 50. Right, because every metal song is about drinking blood from a skull.
  3. I don't think there's anything wrong with looking other places to learn and grow as a guitar player, musician...and music listener. I hate modern metal...talk about "posers". Half the time Godsmack and all the other copycats (of whoever) are talking about being upset with the girlfriend. I still have a fondness for good 80's metal (not Poison...but Helloween, TNT, Maiden, Raven...etc), but I have also grown into jazz, fusion, the jam band scene (like Moe/Umphrey's/etc). All part of my musical journey that I wouldn't have if I subscribed to your philosophy. "real music"? I don't think you know. Adding other interests isn't the same as "growing out of it". Douche.
  4. Grow out of liking real music? {censored} no. If you have "grown out of it" you probably never really liked it in the first place. Most likely you were posing. {censored}ing poser.
  5. Haha.... I am the proud owner of a Raven RG 100 combo. Here is a real review for all you one post Raven employees.... ERRRR I mean, regular Joes upset at seeing your favorite amp hated on by the HCAF regulars like two years ago. It has two channels, Lead and Rhythm. The Lead channel has enough gain to make you hate the channel and that's about it. It kind of sounds like a bad ass broken muffler. The Rhythm channel has no gain but! it is a pretty good colorless clean channel. It is actually great for pedals and modelers. The amp has a reverb which you should never use. Ever. It's pretty terrible, much like the gain channel. The speakers in the combo are some generic 75s that are fairly low end heavy.
  6. Eddie was offered an endorsement deal by Reflecto! A plastic reflector company that specialized in a product that could reflect light in a cool way.
  7. Overrated: Joe Bananamassa or whatever his name is, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, John Mayer, Derek Trucks Underrated: Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Michael Shenker Yeah I know.... Only white guy blues players retreading the same tired licks through the same tired gear know how to play the guitar and so must always be handed bags of cash and constant praise and attention from major media sources. The guys I mentioned for the most part have had plenty of attention from fellow guitar players and industry insiders (hugely influential to new players) but have never really been given the keys to the money press like the white guy blues players. In Asian markets that give those guys a fair shake at ad money and media access they sell out stadiums. Underrated.
  8. Most of the "shredders" were dirt poor and those guitars were affordable at the time.
  9. Yeah, would rather have that gnarly, rad, cool, groovy axe your slingin' in your avatar! You're right, those are dinosaurs...I'd rather play something you young hipsters play because I'm sure it sounds totally different and so SO cool!. Guitar I am playing in my av is the cheapy Dean I bought for $150 because I don't have money for something decent yet. Also, I am 36. Not exactly young. Or a hipster for that matter. There are a lot of nice guitars that have been made and designed in the last 60 years. You should head over to a music store and play a couple. You might be surprised to find that Les Paul isn't the only guy to endorse a guitar for instance.
  10. Between these three dinosaurs? Les Paul.
