  1. I write and record a lot of songs in Drop G# tuning (Bass would be tuned - G#, D# G# C#) In the past, I was recording with a 34inch active bass with a .145 gauge for the low G# string but it was still too floppy and ridiculously difficult to intonate. I’ve currently got a custom fanned-fret bass being build with a 34.5-36.25inch scale. Could anyone recommend suitable strings for this? Ideally I would prefer if you could recommend a specific brand and string set. I find it quite odd how difficult it is to find a suitable string set without me having to purchase individual strings to make my own custom set. Most “low tuning” sets don’t suit me as well because the low Drop string is a whole step down from a detuned standard tuning, the tension becomes too floppy compared to the rest of the strings. People have been playing very low Drop tunings for decades but I have yet to come across specific string sets design for this. Thanks in advance!
  2. You're missing out... The electric guitar looks ace though.. I know I would get one! Very true my friend. After searching for so long, I've found ONE, only ONE store in the whole of Australia which sells these. Other than that, you'd have to get it ordered from the UK.
  3. Orrr... you could go with the Spongebob 'Flying V' Ukelele. Nah..not a big fan of it. Thanks for your suggestion anyway
  4. The kit got 4out of 5 in the UK magazine Total Guitar. They seemed quite impressed with it. Alan Sweet! That guitar is mine then!
  5. Okay. So is it a guitar worth getting? It's not THAT crappy of a guitar is it?
  6. i remember watching that bubblestand episode when it first aired. i remember thinking "WHAT THE {censored} IS THIS I WANT MORE." Guys, I'm very happy with the responses here and I'm terribly sorry for being such a pain, but could we stay in the same topic? thanks
  7. NICE!! Please tell me more..! How does the neck feel like? Does the smaller body affect playability in any way? Do you know the exact specs of the guitar? By the way, an off-topic question, what chord is the guy in the picture (or is it you? ) playing?
  8. No no. It's not a 7/8 scale guitar. It has a full scale neck but a 7/8 sized body. So the body is a little smaller than normal but other than that, it plays like a normal guitar. I have read a number of reviews (which were almost impossible to find!) , and those people said that this guitar is certainly not a toy, get it set up right and it plays like a real instrument! So far there're only 3 videos I can find on youtube about this guitar.
  9. Call me a kid or whatever you like..but I've always liked Spongebob Squarepants since I was a kid. I'm really thinking of getting this because how often do you come across a guitar as cool as this? However, I can't seem to find the specs of this guitar. Does anyone know what wood the body is made of? The neck looks like maple to me. Also, I'm just getting opinions here, how good/crappy do you think this guitar would sound if I would to install an active metal pickup and tuned it to drop C or something?
