  1. This is my first full on recording and mixing for a band. It was recorded on a Pro Tools HD system. I failed at a lot of points during actual recording as we were super rushed for time in the schools studio...(that's my excuse anyways ) The guitars were recorded with a multi-fx pedal board which didn't help matters.. The drums sounded like poop so I ended up using Drumagog. I think I salvaged it pretty decently but you be the judge. The final mix was brought home and mixed on cheaper Fostex monitors. Really looking for tips on the mix more then the quality. http://www.myspace.com/thepanicstudio Thanks.
  2. I got my BCF2000 in the mail yesterday. I love it. I'm really glad i didn't go with he Fader Port with only 1 fader. Was super easy to get working. A lot of people seem to have had problems getting them to work but...i think they just didn't hit up the instructions and/or Behringers site. Was up in running in 5 mins in Sonar and 10 (had to download a legacy patch/plugin) for Pro Tools.
  3. Thanks guys. I'm going for it. Should make mixing 100% easier if it runs anything like the command 8 we use in the studio at school. sadly...can't afford $1,300....and if i could it would be on a mic and preamp. sucky thing is that EVERYWHERE is back ordered right now on the BCF2000 till the end of the month
  4. With them being motorized you can SEE your automation. What about touch sensitive? Different then being motorized?
  5. very cool. DAW controllers are the shiznit. lol but yeah I still need to know what the difference is between the BCF2000 being motorized and the Fader Port being touch sensitive. seems like they would be one in the same.
  6. when you open up say Pro tools or in my case Sonar Producer, if you have the fader for a track (in the application) set at +5db the fader (on the real life unit such as the BCF2000) will automatically move to that position. You can then control it and edit it via the fader in your hand instead of your mouse on screen. If they aren't motorized to go into the place that the tracks volume is in the application already, you'll have to move everything around again.... make sense? easy to show but hopefully that makes sense. Better yet, youtube some mixers such as the command 8 and the BCF2000. it may help you get a better idea to see it in action.
  7. wtf does a fader exactly do? fader, like on a mixer board. controls the volume/input.
  8. What's the difference between touch sensitive and just being motorized? If you move it on the BCF it moves on screen right? I was told that the BCF is cheap because it's not touch sensitive (GHEY). I have the Alphatrack and find it to be great in every way except with cubase, because for some reason the resolution of the pan and eq knobs is way to low. You have to twist it around 4 times just to go from C to L. I do not find the response time to be to slow (actually that sounds wierd to me) at all. Besides the Alphatrack has more controls than the Faderport. Also: my only complaint with the Alphatrack lies with cubase it was great in pro tools and logic, the pan and volume controls were perfect.
  9. I said that i would NEVER buy crappy behringer ANYTHING ever again after 3 products and seeing other peoples crap fail.......... however....8 motorized faders for $200???? Fader port is $150 for only 1! Hows the reaction time? Ask this since I know that the AlphaTrack has gotten alot of crap because of its delay. So what if 1 motor goes out...that's still 7 more to go. Almost...just almost seems like it would be worth it. Anyone highly against the BCF2000? And you can program the buttons so i could make one button "record" right? so really it has alot more then the fader port offers....minus reliability long term, lol.
  10. I have no problems recording with the Delta 44. My only beef is that everything is on the PC as far as volumes. Also there is no headphone jack. so keep that in mind. I'm ordering a FirePod tomorrow, best part is i can use it on my PC or my Laptop so that makes me happy (the firepod that is). At first the Delta was great but once u start using it, at least for me, i wanted more options which it just can't give you. For the price its worth it though. On that note......selling mine for $100
