  1. That Bugera V5 is seriously looking quite great on paper, and I keep hearing great things about it. I'm also heavily considering the AC4. Maybe I'll just get a V5 combo and an AC4, just for the fuck of it. whenever I get a job.
  2. God I wish you'd trade that blue SG for a guitar.. cuz I've got a Godin Exit 22 that I'd ship in a heartbeat for that thing. Jesus. Anyway! Please see the links in my sig!
  3. Wow, that samurai-esque Charvel is {censored}ing hawt. and I'm eating pizza rolls. they're delicious. MY PIZZA ROLLS: They're tasty.
  4. Dude, this is awesome. Seriously. Insane amounts of kudos to you for this. I'm trying to think of things that could go on my Peavey Raptor's headstock.. I'll get back to you!
  5. Thank you, cratz. Well, the hardtail option was cheaper, which is why I wanted to go for it. And I love Paul Gilbert, so he influenced me to think hardtail fixed bridges were cool. So I think they're way badass. I'm getting all of my parts from Guitarfetish, too. Besides the pup. So, which trem would you recommend I buy from G-fetish? Or shall I get these? http://store.guitarfetish.com/sosttrblfima.html http://store.guitarfetish.com/upststsafitr.html As for the pup, I'm kinda going for both. I wanted to use the Raptor for my soloing/noodlin' guitar, maybe even for a couple of metalz jamz with my band. So that's why I was thinking the X2N, but I was worried it might just be too br00tal for anything besides.. teh br00talz. I tried the Evo set in my Kelly - I dunno, I liked them, but at the same time, I didn't. The bridge pup was pretty metal, but seemed a bit muddy, and while the neck pup did some sweet leads, it sounded kinda ice pick-y. I didn't try much for the cleans, because at the time, I didn't do much tweaking of the amp settings or volume control, I just switched straight to neck and the clean channel, which of course, sounded like {censored}. And I forgot to mention, I'll be throwing in a 500k push-pull pot for coil splitting, so I'm not limited to just the humbucker. I'm considering a few DiMarzios, just having trouble deciding on one.
  6. bump. And, I'm having trouble thinking about this: If I do go with the hardtail fixed bridge option, how hard would it be to convert the Fender-style tremolo? Or would you need to know more than just that?
  7. Ohhh, I didn't know they were so popular, twas why I axksed'd. Now, a question for the opinions: I'm very inclined to running one single humbucker at the bridge. But, WHAT? I was thinking of the DiM X2N for teh br00talz, but I want something a little more versatile, so I'm not confined to one genre (as in, only sounding great when playing certain things, but sounding like {censored} when playing stuff like.. blues, or something.) Any opinions on what other pickup I could get? And, just to be sure, if I got a hardtail fixed bridge piece, I'd need standard-spaced pickups, right? Not F?
  8. and, bump.. is it possible to tell what kind of wood the neck is made from, by looking at it? If it is, someone tell me, and I'll post a pic up.
  9. You're entitled to your opinion. As far as I'm concerned, it's my guitar, and I'll do what I want with it. I kinda like it! Does anyone know what it takes to do a DIY nut? I'm thinking of just doing some work to the neck it's already got.
  10. I wanted the SS frets for the long-lasting/durable fret option. But, then I found out from this thread that it would cost too much. So I may just stick to this neck, aside from the alternative of getting a guitarfetish neck. Definitely need to clean the fretboard.. Should I redress the frets? (I honestly don't know what this means, that's why I'm asking.) I don't have a single-pickup guitar, and I do want one, so I want the Peavey to be that. So far, on guitarfetish.com, I've got a mirrored pickguard routed for one HB, one 500K push-pull pot, a fixed Strat-style hardtail bridge, and Wilkinson EZ-LOK tuners. I'm still trying to decide on what pickup to put. I really want a versatile pup, that sounds good in both HB and SC mode. Something that can handle metal and everything else an HB is good for, but in split mode, can pull off some sweet and smooth tones. Not looking for one that can master every genre of music I try to dabble in, but one that can handle it. I really don't use the trem that it has, it's one of those Strat-like trems. If I did get a new one, though, and then block it.. what would that do, as far as tone, compared to the hardtail fixed bridge?
