  1. It would concern me. I would think if it snapped there, it would be a whole lot more expensive to fix than the typical Gibson neck break location just under the headstock. That "rough finish" looks like cracking or movement enough to disrupt the finish, which is pretty thick on this model. Maybe it is a repair that was not done in a neat manner?
  2. I think he might have left them in cause he looked at his splattered wall and said, "That's... pretty freakin' cool." Agreed!
  3. I think sometimes an artist, myself included will do scratch lyrics just to get a melody and rhythm/meter and phasing going, then switch them out later. Some leave them in on occasion, which is what Come Together feels like to me. Anthony Keidis does it a lot in RHCP too.
  4. Nothing personal meant, dude. I was just trying to add something interesting to this thread. It needs it. No worries - I just can't figure out why all the Kennedy-assassination-esque conspiracy theories abound vis a vis this thread, other than the fact that some single-post-count troll bait posters have posted here. Maybe somebody is trying to inflate the Carlos stock price before they dump, cut and run... Speaking of Ebay and back in the day - God, I miss the times when ebay didn't sucketh the ass. It used to be a good market place for used musical gear, but it's just a Buy-It-Now overpriced Ebay Power Seller hell now.
  5. So why exactly would somebody want to start a fake thread about Carlos guitars?
  6. To the Ebay historian - okay, what ever maybe it was the mid - late 90's. Geez. Guess I'm lying about that too.
  7. Hey - this caught my eye too - I'll have to dig up a photo of my old Carlos acoustic. I got one around 1988 from B&B Music in Delaware, if I recall correctly. It was a spruce top, single cutaway. I ended up putting a Barcus-Berry dot pickup in it. I had to drill out the end pin hole to accomodate the jack. It sounded pretty good but as I recall the top was getting pretty bowed up before I ebay'd it in the early 90's. It was a nice looking guitar too.
  8. The reflection almost makes it look like they have some cool striping going on. Still beautiful stuff though!
  9. Thank you for your support.... I gotta start proofreading my posts before I click..
  10. Before you asked, I was into pointy guitar, Floyd Rose, two handed tapping whammy bar divebombing and could only afford one guitar at a time back then. Besides, nobody cool, except maybe Angus or Tony Iommi played an SG back then. At the same time, Slash was singlehandedly reving the Gibson guitar company and taking rock and roll back from California guitar makers. So I caught the tail end of the wrong trend. As usual.
  11. Crappy pic - and it's a Charvette, but IT COUNTS!! Don't be mean, even if I told you that around 1990 I traded a Gibson SG in spectacular shape in on this and still paid $250, I think. The rape that occurred notwithstanding, I did and still do love how this thing plays and sounds. Would love to add a real Charvel to my collection soon.
  12. I was just going to chime and defend PreSonus, but how about the above couple of posts for service? Very impressive. BTW, I have the Inspire 1394 and I love it. Great value.
