  1. Tech 21 Trademark 10 (analog, but not tube or digital) and the Fender Princeton come to mind.
  2. Particularly to those who have attrempted to answer most directly and specifically, without going off on a recording lecture/tangent (Sorry, guys, but I see that occuring often on these forums, no offense!). As a collector of much gear (and user of little, unfortunately) due to an eBay addiction, I actually have the Delta 66/Omni Studio combo and the E-Mu 1820m, neither of which are currently in use as I am in the slow process of building a computer and getting organized, with very little time available. I will probably use the Omni on my older computer (I had thoughts of picking up the 1010) with the 1820m on the new build. My goal is quality production, what I would consider "professional" quality sound, based on the equipment available. I think most of us know what that means without getting transendental about it. Lots of unimpressive cookie-cutter music out there that basically sucks, recorded in big time studios with scads of expensive gear. I appreciate every poster's time, experience and opinions. As a side note, I live here in NJ Springsteen Country (when not orbiting the Red Planet), not far from his home. It is my understanding that Nebraska was supposedly a raw, noisy assed demo he made that he felt captured what he was after better than what he could subsequently get when the E Street boys became involved. Ultimately getting that creation to mastering level took lots of additional help. I actually dig that album because it's not over produced. As a big Boss fan, I think some of his music gets lost by being over produced/engineered and becomes muddled, without enough clarity and space, so to speak. Live Long and Prosper.
  3. The M-Audio Delta 1010 interface seemed to be a bit more popular several years ago. But my main concern is this: Using this interface today with decent quality pres, etc., will the achievable results be of a professional nature, or has this interface been left behind by others in that $300-400 price range? I have the opportunity to build my home studio DAW computer around the 1010 or the E-Mu 1820m at this time. The 1010 seems to be quite a bit easier to deal with, from what I can tell; the 1820m learning curve may give me too big a headache and drain me of the necessary gray matter I need to save for recording purposes. I do understand that they are different animals. Your ops are always appreciated.
  4. Like the Genie in Aladdin's Lamp, you have broken free... From the 60s! We are so proud. Now about that Hooka smoking character down the rabbit hole ...
