If you don't mind a slim neck I'd definitely say get a Gibson Les Paul classic. I have a 50's standard and a classic, and the classic is the nicer of the two. Unfortunately I find the fatter neck of the standard more comfortable but both the guitars play beautifully but the classic has a nicer sound and with the coil splits and phase push pull pots, it's way more versatile. I love them both but if the classic had a 50's profile neck, it would be the only guitar I need. Classics are a bit cheaper than standards, I think about £1700 new.

I'm still totally glued to this guitar and can't understand how my cheapest guitar by far is so amazing 😂 The only thing I did was put some heavier guage strings on, tighten the springs to compensate and polish the frets. But the action is perfect! I'm totally impressed and well done to Kramer.

I got this a couple of days ago for £189 shipped, it was the last one in stock and they've been on sale for a while. I'm quite partial to a Floyd Rose and at that price I had to give it a try. It's actually an awesome guitar, cheap or not😆

Thanks, your reply is reassuring. I'm still getting some improvements but I'm lifting my fingers higher off the fretboard than I used to because the joints aren't moving like they used to. You've given me encouragement so thank you. Heartbreakingly it was my dog who attacked me, he had dementia and was very confused.

Hi, I just wanted to get some opinions please. I recently broke my middle and ring fingers on my left hand along with dislocations after a dog attack (please don't ask, it wasn't mine or the dogs fault). Anyway, my hand is feeling like it's healed as much as it will but I have a bit of restricted movement. When moving from my pinky to ring finger for example if pulling off a note, there's zero dexterity there and it's very painful. Moving from ring finger to middle is fine and pinky to middle is fine also. Is it acceptable to cut down on pinky finger use whilst doing fast shreddy runs or should I fight the pain, slow down and re-learn to play? It's really bothering me and I feel like I'm cutting corners by using three fingers where I used to use four.

So millionaire's weekend just went by (pay day), so I treated myself to one of the new PRS 24 custom SE guitars. It's my first PRS and although I was drawn to trying it out because of the colour I was amazed by how good it felt and sounded, it's very similar to my Gibson Les Paul but weighs less and has better upper neck access. It sustains forever and pinched harmonics sound killer. I'm 100% a born again PRS fanboy 😆

I had one but saved up for a gibson, so I sold her to a friend. I do miss the old epiphone. The gibson is a better guitar, but the epiphone was nice too. I gigged with it a fair bit and got quite attached to it.
