  1. If you get a chance, try out a Manuel Rodriguez C1 at Guitar Center. I found one that sounded great to me and was comparatively well priced. These are made in Asia. If you can find one. the Rodriguez e Hijos Model A gets good reviews. It's similar to the C1 but made in Spain. If price is an issue, the used market is your best bet.
  2. I'm just selling this for a friend? Run away. How many times have you approached or been approached by someone to sell a Gibson Custom Shop guitar? Ask the seller if he'll split the $50 to have it authenticated by George Gruhn.
  3. I used one until the the rotary switch gave out and it started to eat batteries (about 3 months). Great little tuner you can take everywhere, but as mentioned above very cheaply constructed. Almost disposable. Tested against my Intellitouch Tuner, both had very similar readings. It's a great idea, but I wouldn't want to depend on it. If PW could upgrade the switch everyone would have them. Only operational drawback is that it's limited to standard tuning, but for most of us that's not a problem.
  4. Same thing happened to me on my acoustic with Ernie Ball Earthwoods. Turned my fingers pitch black until I cleaned the strings.
