  1. They don't have much of a crunchy sound for being EMGs in a supposedly Metal Guitar. I'll take HZs over Duncan Designs, V7s / V8s, or any other mid-range guitar pickup. They're not EMG actives, but they definitely hold their own and get the job done. Of course I'd take a Seymour Duncan JB over an a HZ (I'm not fond of actives). But if you're buying a Jackson with a JB (or EMG actives) in it, expect to pay 30% more for the axe. Like I said, compare those HZs to Duncan Designs and V7/V8 (notably in Ibanez RG series) and you'll be blown away by the difference.
  2. That's one hell of a bargain. Nice find! Yeah, don't change those pickups unless you hate them. They're totally underrated pickups.
  3. Hey, heads up guys. I wanted to let everyone know about a free pedal give away at Gear-Monkey. Actually, there are 4 free pedals give-away this month. Last month was a Boss pedal give-away, it was so much fun, it's going to continue again for the month of April. Read more details here: Free Guitar Pedal Give-Away. Here are actual photos of the free guitar pedals.
  4. I was wanting to get a BV150 / BV300 but it's hard to find them. But I can't imagine them selling for $2500 new. WoW! You can get a top of the line Mesa or a Diezel for that. I'm sure your price is reasonable, but damn!!! Who would have thought a crate would be valued for so much. They must be decent amps, you hardly ever see them for sale. Good Luck
