  1. Hmm. I have a house, 2 car payments, a wife and a baby on the way. So maybe a touch different situation than most here. When my wife was working full time, we were pulling 90k. We've been around 75k the past 2 years. With the extra girl to spoil on the way, I'd hope we're cresting 150k together by 40. She's an RN and I'm a mechanical engineer. I've been out of school 5 years. If I were single, I'd be cool with 55k.
  2. Hmmm it depends. I'm going to assume you're going for the separate takes vs. band all at once. If the verse requires a clean guitar, I set up a separate track and sound for that part. If the chorus requires a dirty guitar, I then find the best tone for the chorus. I say, there's nothing wrong with having to punch in takes. That's okay. Major label bands do it all the time. It's not about just playing the right notes at the right time. It's about performing the part.
  3. It's not a great pic and its a little out dated, and it only shows part of the room... But here's a shot of my "control" room. I track here and send to a friend of mine with a better room for mixing. I'll get some more pics up. Specifically of tracking drums in my living room (10 foot ceilings) and acoustic guitar in my Spare room off the control room. Gear added since then is a 22 space road rack to house it all (including 2 drawers with foam for mics),a digi 002R, a behringer ADA8000, an ART MPA Gold, 2 chameleon labs 7602's and a Funklogic rack with an RNC and an RNLA. I'll post more pics soon. Tim
  4. I've been using an OCD for over a year now and I can't say enough good things about. Everyone who has played it has loved it. As for Phil's question... The pedals most commonly used are- OCD Subdecay Liquid Sunshine Skreddy Screwdriver Keeley Modded BD-2 Catalinbread Semaphore Lil Big Muff Diamond Memory Lane I have other pedals, but if we need a boosted amp tone, its 98% of the time the OCD. And I have 4 nice OD's to choose from. Tim
