Members misterlutherman
Try playing with either the side of your finger/ thumb, or try a new technique entirely, like flatpicking, or just don't use that finger/ thumb for a while. I cut my thumb washing a can to be recycled. No pain no gain I guess!
Members catscurlyear
super glue might work,if you are from uk what you doing washing a can for, let the council do it, it`s what they get paid for and they have the proper gear ,they wouldn`t wash sharp cans with their bare hands, health and saftey and all that.try a thumb pick maybe
Members FretFiend.
There is a product called "New Skin" that seals up cuts pretty well. Yep, super glue will do it too.
Members Idunno
Heal. It's kinda old world but it's worked so far for me, even without the medical arts and big pharma trying to plug it with pills and bills, respectively.
Members Mikeo
New skin doesn't harden, like super glue. Super glue will work, just take an emery board and sand off the extra. It's not surgical/ medical grade stuff, you by at the store, but as long as it's not really deep, you should be ok

Members Grant Harding
I vote for put a plaster on it and practice your flatpicking as long as you're not gigging.
Members 1001gear
And get a sidewinder can opener. I've found a couple that seem to last.
Members Danocoustic
Bought a new mandoline slicer a couple months ago, promptly took about 1/16" off the end of my right index finger with it. Just recently been able to pick bare-fingered with it again. For weeks it was too sore and tender to even put a metal fingerpick on it, but once it was partially healed, that's what I did. Played my hubcap guitar a lot.
