Members Rich
He said that some people are scientific about it but the main thing was just to turn it a little at a time, just like you guys said. He took a 1/4" nut driver and gave it a little tweak and told me to check it out. Now my D50 plays far better in the upper registers of the fretboard and I know a little more about something that I was afraid to do myself. Members Gary Palmer
Nice one. All it takes is a little practise.
Members Samilyn
Glad to hear it! It's not rocket science, just remember that a little goes a long way. I remember the first time I ever tweaked a truss rod. My hands were shaking and I just knew I was gonna bust my poor git...LOL
Members Melodeous
Congratulations. When you think about it it's akin to getting a new guitar.
Members simplygoodmusic
I love to hear techs sitting down to show people how to do stuff. My tech is the coolest guy. EVERYTHING he does he shows me step by step and answers any questions I may have.
Members pinchegordo
We haven't got a good acoustic tech here in town.

Members mjuenem
The first time I touch the rod on a guitar unknown to me, I tweek it in the loose direction slightly before then going tighter. It helps me make sure the nut is not frozen or stuck without the tension that would tend to hide this fact.
Members boxorox
Good advice from mjuenem. Forgive me Forum, for I have sinned. The first time I ever tried a truss rod adjustment, I busted it. Old Harmony mando, weird system and not too robust, but SNAP! is not a happy sound anymore. Made me gun shy for a long time, but I got over it, mostly. So take it easy, and take your time to sneak up on that sweet spot.
Members Steadfastly
A lot of things are scary the first time but the adage, a little at a time is definitely the way to go. After all, it is a guitar not a drum.
