Members ASoRelle Posted May 5, 2013 Members Share Posted May 5, 2013 I have owned the same Alvarez Yari since 1993 and never been happy with the electronics on it, however, I do like the acoustic sound and the feel of the neck. I've been shopping around and leaning towards either a Epi Masterbilt or a Breedlove, but I haven't been able to find the model that i'm looking for locally so that I could try it out. Basically I need something that sounds really nice electronically and has decent gain before feedback for full band performances. I'm not rich, but willing to spend up to about 800 or so for the right one, though i'd rather stay around 500.So, the question is, what's a great sounding acoustic electric for under 800? Anyone have any experience with the epi Masterbilt line? how's the neck/fretwork? Or should I look into upgrading the electronics on my Yari? it's just got a martin peizo bridge pup.
