Members BlackHatHunter
So the challenge that day was to write a song about a town I have never visited, starting with the line "El Paso I love you, though I've never been there."As a songwriter, it can be fun to "write yourself into a corner" and try and find a way out. This song was what resulted.http://davejacquet.bandcamp.com/track/el-paso
Members DeepEnd
Certainly interesting. I admire your persistence. I'm currently working on a song about the place where Jesus was crucified and I realized I didn't have any idea what the area was like.
Members BlackHatHunter
That's a cool point, because sometimes you want to write the song from a standpoing of authenticity, while other times you're just evoking a feeling by geographical association. For example, I've written a ton of songs about the islands. But mostly I am not talking about Tahiti or Bora Bora as much as I am talking about the general atmosphere of the islands.
