I used MXR distortion + boosting the lead channel of my bugera 6262. the guitar has dimarzio tone zone pickups. It's an Ibanez artcore semi-hollow. I tried to do the randy rhoads version from the tribute live album.

I'm not sure how you did the drums, but they don't sound smooth and driving. Once you start putting drums in a tune, it's all based around that. As guitar players, drums are usually our weakest link, but it needs to to be the strongest link.

I'm pretty impressed you got that tone out of a semi hollow body.

As a cover, I have yet to hear a better version, as I have only heard the Black Sabbath version of the tune.

I'm giving you a solid B+, with room for improvement in recording and perfecting your craft.

If you enjoyed the processes and learned something, you are ahead of the game.

It takes a bit of time to gain confidence and get over the hump especially if you live with other people. Singing while driving is a good way to start off, because of the road noise you have to push it up a few DB and that makes you start to think about breathing :-)
