Members 1001gear Posted February 9, 2019 Members Share Posted February 9, 2019 I stack drives. Lots recently since I added some Chinese models to my collection. The only rule I use is that the actual signal level increases incrementally towards the amp. Even high gain stuff can go in front of low gain stuff as long as the pedals don't mud out along the way. You get lots of interesting harmonic blends and a lot of horrible stuff too. I think of it like using hotter pickups only much simpler and quicker. But I think it's just standard 3 note per string shredding in the guitar world today. I sound like the average joe as far as playing fast goes.
