Members RaVenCAD
Hello again old friends.. Sweetwater dropped off this lovely critter at my house today. I've been wanting one of these for a while now. It's a Washburn WCG66SCE. These are Sweetwater photos of my actual guitar.
Members t_e_l_e
i like washburn accoustics.. my first real guitar is one. its not that they are that great, but they are a good bang for the buck
Members RaVenCAD
Actually, they're pretty darn great. I've got one that I've owned since 1999 and it sounds and plays as good as anything I've played short of a Martin D-35. This new oneone plays better, and in time I think it'll sound better than my old one. I've tried Breedlove, Seagull and PRS in thisthis price range and none of them came close. Members mrbrown49
A forearm cut on an acoustic? What a novel idea. Looks to be big enough to be comfortable without affecting the top much. congrats!
Members RaVenCAD
Yeah it makes it super comfortable to sit and play. Here's a better pic of it..
Members catscurlyear
they should think about doing that at the bottom where it rests on your leg cause after playing sat down for a lenght of time ,if i drop my trousers Whoops! for any reason ,we wear long trousers here in the british isles this time of year brr! , there is always a line pitted out across my leg.. Members DeepEnd
Congratulations and Happy New Guitar Day. I've played a couple of Washburns I liked. The forearm cut looks cool but I'm a fairly big guy so I don't know if I'd need one. My dreadnought is fine without one. It also adds complexity and cost, which partially explains the price of the guitar but YMMV.
Members RaVenCAD
I've played and loved a basic dreadnought for years as well.. Comfort on this one is vastly superior. I always play sitting down, at home, while relaxing. Comfort is very important for me.
Members mrbrown49
That's a lovely shot. A bit of wood porn. I love how the binding flows into to contoured section. I wonder how that affects the bracing, Have you taken a look inside with an inspection mirror?

Members Danocoustic
Happy NGD! That's a nice-looking instrument. My main acoustic is a Washburn USA J20S---jumbo walnut body, cedar top. Bought it in new '94 for $900, will never part with it.
Members RaVenCAD
Didn't have an inspection mirror, but I have a phone. I'll get a better shot when I do a string change. Gotta get some Elixirs on the thing ASAP.

Members RaVenCAD
My other Washburn is from 1999 and it's called a Millennium edition. This was when Y2K was expected to kill all the power grids. Didn't happen, but I got a cool guitar anyway.

But he also had a NEW Russian SKS and that took all the cash I had. The 'burn was gone when I went back.
