Over Niagara in a Martin.

Now there's a folk song waiting to be written, Johnny Cash style.sm-happy

I have a melody in mind but for now here are some lyrics:

I'd go over Niagara in my guitar

Lie down, get run over by your dad's car

I might run away but I couldn't get far

Your love near destroyed me and left a huge scar

I can't run and hide

And I can't get away

'Cause I need your love

To get through the day.

I'd live in a bucket if you said I should

Climb trees like a monkey or live in the wood

I'd give everything if you understood

And I'd leave in a minute if only I could

I can't run and hide

And I can't get away

'Cause I need your love

To get through the day.

I'd drink all the raindrops if you gave the word

I'd take to the sky like a great big ol' bird

I'm dizzy and weak, my vision is blurred

Don't need to be first, just second or third

I can't run and hide

And I can't get away

'Cause I need your love

To get through the day.

Alright! Thai signs! (where I live, BTW).

Those Alpine dancing girls are great. Their job title here is "pretties". I've seen help wanted ads asking for say "2 pretties"... "made from same plastic as your dashboard".... one may be a guy, FWIW... Like tourist promo line here "Amazing Thailand"

Cool. A native! Perhaps you can shed some light on these items. (?)

This one is in Cyrilic? I didn't know there was a Russian presence there.

Hey good work deep end. Most people ask me not to record my songs. smiley-wink

Johnny Cash is the complete opposite of my style but since you made a great effort there I feel honor bound to give it a go, just waiting for the new power supply for my Delta1010 interface, (which btw has been a sod to find [ 9v 3.5 amp ac/ac] ) so by the weekend.

OK (Not my kind of song at all) but I like a challenge. here is my one take effort. If you are expecting production standards you ain't gonna get em. LoL

VIDEO PULLED BAD YOUTUBE SOUNDTRANSFER TRYING AGAIN hope this sounds a bit clearer :-)

[video=youtube_share;b50ZTQ9DGv8]https://youtu.be/b50ZTQ9DGv8

Adjusted Lyrics:

Now a boy called Billy

He had a guitar

Wouldnt trade for a filly

Nor a Chevrolet car

A martin guitar -

Good, wood

Wouldn't let go

of that old friend

Rain or snow

with it till the end

Which was closer than he thought

Now he played that thing

On a river boat trip

The dancing got wild

And the boat began to tip

Pandemonium

Most held the rail

He gripped the neck

Jumped on the tail

As he slid off the deck

Floatin'

Well the boat went down

And so did the rails

But Billy didn't drown

cos a Martin never fails

He plucked that ol' e string-

still in tune

Now the river got faster

Swept him along

The current was master

No time for a song

Hangin' on

The river disappeared

On round the bend

A mighty roar he hear'd

Was this the end?

Niagara-

Falls

But Billy had trust

In the old six String

The bottom or bust

It was a brotherly thing

Big- Drop

Over and down

Under for a minute

But Billy survived

On the air that was in it

Deep, breaths

Well they pulled him out

Guitar in hand

He'd began to shout

Lets start a band!

And he played that martin

Like never before

PS a guy called Mark Redman just posted on the Martin site today, synchronicity :)

"I paid more for my first Martin than I did for my first car. Wouldn't trade it for anything."

That was cool. A worthy challenge. ;) I do wish the vocals were more prominent in the mix since the lyrics are very clever and deserve to be heard.
