Why we love Josefina Campos

Wonder what the secrets are.

Probably the fact that she has been with Fender a long long time. She trained under Abigail Ybarra who worked for Fender for damn near 60 years. Josefina Campos is no stranger at Fender, I'm not sure if I could or would spring 500 bucks for her custom hand-wound pickups, but the standard fat 50 should be fantastic. They are about 200 bucks.

Brudda, I'm 60 years old and I look it. Moreover, I couldn't give a rip. I've earned every wrinkle, every gray whisker. I don't try to hide any of it.

She makes overpriced pickups, the equivalent I can get for 1/4 the price. I'm underwhelmed. And I think she looks silly.

Cool?

I've had the pleasure of meeting both Abby and Josefina - when it comes to winding pickups, they're among the best in the world... and FWIW, both are very nice ladies.

I've got a pair of AY wound Strat pickups in my Duo Sonic, and I absolutely love them.
