Phil O'Keefe
Does the name sound familiar? Tom was the editor of Guitar Player magazine from 1981-1991 and wrote many books on the subject of guitars and playing. He will be missed. https://www.guitarplayer.com/players...m-wheeler-dies
Moderators daddymack Posted February 12, 2018 Moderators Share Posted February 12, 2018 This is sad news. Tom Wheeler contributed greatly to American guitar lore...his voice is not silenced, but it will be missed.
Members Grant Harding
I learned a lot from that magazine and I think he did a great job. RIP
Members C-4
I had been reading Guitar Player almost since it's beginning. Tom Wheeler was a great source of information. He had written a book called The American Guitar. In that book was a picture of my Gibson Super 400 with 22 frets. That picture was sent in to Tom Wheeler by The Guitar Trader in Red Bank N.J.at my request, since the store had a lot of notoriety during those years.R.I.P. Members bluesmann
I think most guitar players remember Toms name. I always looked forward to the next issue. That was pre internet and one of the few ways to find out about new gear at the time. Today? we be spoiled. Remember dialup? Godspeed Tom.
