22 mf capacitor in a S,S,H Strat ?

Depends on what you want. A lower value capacitor will cause the tone control to affect a higher frequency range, in this case roughly an octave higher than what you have now (47/22). If the tone control is maxed it shouldn't have much effect anyway but if you roll off the tone with a 22µF capacitor as opposed to a 47µF cap it will leave more mids intact.

A lot depends on how you use your tone and volume controls. If looking to drop the highs a bit, just lower the volume on the guitar a touch. Since it (probably) doesn't have a .001 cap, a lower volume, will cut the high end a touch.

 

Secondly, this is the most subjective part here, caps are cheap. Buy a few, and see what works for your needs. For a tone switch in my 65 Gretsch, I used 6 .001 caps, and a .22 to get what I wanted. I went thru about 12 versions, before finding that sweet spot. Price, maybe $3 for all 12 versions.
