Members WRGKMC
The second real guitar I owned after a Vox Apollo (which was a very cool guitar with on board electronics was a 67 Riviera with mini Humbuckers. Its had a super slim neck on it and fantastic tone. Bought it used for $150, Traded it for a 60's SG, then traded back again. The Riviera was a higher end guitar compared to the Casino, much like the Sheraton is to the Dot. The Casino was completely hollow inside which gave it more acoustic tone. Beatles made the Casino popular so Riviera didn't sell as well, but its still a better guitar in my opinion. They have had a reissue on the one with the mini Humbuckers. I'd prefer it over my Dot any day of the week, mainly because of the Mini's and the really cool neck. The Frequensator Tailpiece did winders to tighten up the wrapped strings and make it spunky to play.

Members onelife
I wouldn't blame you if you did (literally). When we were kids, my friends and I would peel off the Made In Japan stickers from our Gibson copies. Now I seek out MIJ guitars. It looks like you have found a wiiner with that one. Your new Epi is probably built better than my "real" Gibson ES-137 Custom.

Members GAS Man
Sweet! Nice to find quality Epiphones. All of mine are "newer productions" with most being made in Korea (few from China) with the exception of a couple Elitist models from Japan. But it would be nice to score an earlier vintage like that. I've often thought I'd like to have a Gibson ES-125, and from what I gather, the two are somewhat similar. One of my Elitists is the Casino. I find that hollow body design to be a bit tricky for me to use since I'm not used to fully hollow bodied electrics, but I do find it useful for those "Revolution" tones. Members DeepEnd
Sweet. The Epiphone Wiki says it's a late 90's model reissue: http://epiphonewiki.com/index.php?title=Sorrento. Bet it's a great jazz box.
