Members Tweedledee
I put this in the Hot Deals thread, but I know there is a lot of love around here for the First Act SFA set-neck guitars so I thought I would start a thread. They seem to have a lot of them, including BLACK Sheenas. I'm not sure I can resist... I've owned both the Sheena and the Lola and I can honestly say that as long as you like the looks and colors, there is no way to get a better guitar for $99. Members Tweedledee
Here are some photos of the ones I've owned. The blue Lola. (Mine was much darker than the ones that most other people received.) The blue Sheena.
Members JohnnyRaincheck
I gotta say, having both Lola and Sheena, I am still very impressed by these guitars. $99 is unbelievable. They certainly blow away several $250-$400 guitars I've had in the past.
Members CanIBDom
What's up with the Sheena neck pups? Single coils? P90s? The website makes it seem like it's a combo of the two.
Members Tweedledee
I couldn't resist. I just bought the black Sheena. I loved the Sheena I had, but I didn't love the color and I ended up getting rid of it. The neck P90-ish pickup on them is fantastic, if you're into a neck P90 tone. Here's a video of the blue one I had. Not the greatest playing, but it gives you an idea of the tone.

The neck is basically a humbucker-sized P90. The bridge is a humbucker. Both have alnico 5 magnets.
Members IBDBB
If i had the extra cash, i would grab a black one and a lola as well....I hope i can hold out!
Members blueshawk1
Oh crap! I don't want to see these back. I liked the Sheenas before they became popular here, and managed to resist buying one the last time they had them.
Members poolshark
If the Lola was in 25.5" scale, I'd be broke right now.
Members A-20
Tweedledee - that's a great clip. I love the blue color and am still loving my Sheena - highly recommended for anyone on the fence. Super buy.

Members brandass
Anybody care to run down the differences, beyond the obvious (body shape, neck pup, 2nd vol knob, fretboard wood)?
Members Funderbunk
I couldn't resist. I just bought the black Sheena. Yep, so did I. Now, if they'll only get some red ones in..
Members ChiRocker
If they still have these on friday, I don't know if I'll be able to stop myself from picking up a black Lola...
Members axegrinder
Lately I have REALLY been enjoying the clean blues tone out of the neck pickup on my Sheena. For those who missed out the first time, this is a nice opportunity to pick up a great value.
Members Geeter
Can anybody describe the neck? I like small-ish necks. Oh and thanks for the clip Tweedledee

Members twotimingpete
pickups on these things are the ugliest abominations of nature I've ever seen. never owned one, can't comment on anything else but that.
Members dcindc
Yep they're fugly. But they sound good and are a steal. The Lola is all mahog. Think SG meets LP shape. The acoustic tone on mine is to die for.

I'm a bit confused with the lingo though: "The ME501 has a rounder feel, more of a C shape. The Sheena has a slightly flatter back, more of a D shape. It reminds me of the PRS wide/fat carve, very comfortable." The PRS wide/fat is exactly what I'm after! But I'd have thought it'd be described as "a rounder feel, more of a C shape", rather than as "a slightly flatter back, more of a D shape". Anyway, it's something to chew on. Thanks! The single pup ones are bolt-on neck not neck thru like the twin pup models(diff body wood also). I say spend the extra $20, and get probly twice the guitar.
