Members Fenderman1991
Hey I was plying around with my capo and I came up with an arpeggio progression. However two confused me....one was 1 b3 3 and the other was 1 3 b5. What would these chords be called?
Members meganutt7
you COULD think of them as a 7#9 chord and a maj7#11 or 7#11 chord, respectively... I would have to hear them in context, though... If for instance, you're in the key of E minor, and you implied a B7#9 using B, D and D#, then resolved to an Em7, using the notes B, D and E (trying to voicelead as much as possible) then going to your Cmaj7#11 chord using C, E and F#... That might be a pretty cool progression and way to voice it in a cluster-ish sort of way...Keep in mind that the chords I mentioned are at least 4 part chords, so having three notes in them makes you omit certain notes. In the B7#9 I omitted the 5 and 7. In the Em7 I ommited the 3rd (so technically this could also be an E7 or an E7sus4 or whatnot) and for the Cmaj7#11 I ommited the 5 and 7. Members JonR
I agree with Danny, these make more sense as partial chords. Could you gives us tab, for the whole sequence, to see how those two fit?
