Members Re_e_ve_s
I need to get a tube amp... but I need one low watt for home use. But want full tube flavour yet on a budget. I'm looking at the Marshal DSL1. But also looking some slightly higher watt amps like Bugera G5 Infinium Blackstar 5 and even into the Jet City JCA22, DSL 20 and using a pedal attenuator.are attenuator pedals any good?I've only ever owned low end SS amps so I'm not entirely sure I'm even making sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Phil O'Keefe
I'm not a big fan of attenuators. I'd rather run a low-wattage amp hard than use a higher wattage amp with a attenuator. They always seem to change the tone too much for my tastes - and the harder you hit them (IOW, the more attenuation you use) the worse they seem to sound.
