The article is pretty vague on what the difference between having a "Mix" knob (often called depth) which adjusts between 100% Dry and 100% wet vs having a Depth and Amplitude knob. My guess would be the depth knob is again, a wet dry pan knob and the Amplitude has something to do with wave shaping like panning between a Sine wave and Square wave. Square waves are very choppy and sine waves are smooth so I'm guessing that's done using capacitors.
