Members il_mix
Hi, everyone! I'm interested in this small expression pedal. I've read in the manual that the power is REQUIRED....why?!?I've asked MOOER some days ago, but still no answer.A potentiometer-based expression pedal doesn't need power, for sure. Thought about a rotary encoder based one, but it looks quite overkill... Idea?And/Or any owner that can confirm?

Members il_mix
Yeah, of course. But I don't think that it is only for the LED.The MOOER ABY MKII, that I own, has an LED, too, but it is stated that it can be used without a power supply (and I can confirm this). From the manual: "Can work without power supply (LED will not light up)"That's why I'm asking what (besides the LED) needs power in a dumb expression pedal. From the Expline user manual: "(EXPLINE requires power to function correctly)"
Members il_mix
For anyone interested, I've got an answer from MOOER support. The EXP LINE does require power to operate as it doesn’t use a traditional potentiometer but instead it uses a digital circuit Looks like they are actually using an encoder or similar.Have to think a little about pro/cons...
