Members Adey
Hi guys, I've seen a G12k-85 for sale for £25 and was thinking of getting it for my Marshall Haze 40. I tried my Haze through a 1960a (with t-75's I presume) and it was awesome, it tightened the bass up loads and had much more punch and aggressiveness. But I dont know if this difference was caused more by the speakers, or the fact that the 1960s is a sealed 4x12 and my Haze is a ported 1x12? Also, will the k-85 even fit? The Haze is 26cm deep according to specs. Just wanna tighten that low end and have more punch! Cheers!
Members Mikeo
I found this for ya. Don't know if it will help, but I read the original speaker can be a bit dark.http://www.marshallforum.com/threads/value-of-a-celestion-g12-66.41424/ http://www.marshallforum.com/threads/haze-bright-switch-question.41031/ [video=youtube;FYh_sDRqRQQ]
Members DeepEnd
Here are the specs for the G12K-100. The K-85 should be similar: https://celestion.com/product/19/g12k100/. Note that the total depth is 13.5cm. It might fit or it might not. £25 is about $32 US so it's not a huge investment if you can afford it.
