Vernon Reid of Living Colour - gear?

I recently saw a clip of Vernon Reid playing "Cult of Personality" when Living Colour was on Arsenio Hall and his tone absolutely smoked live. He had a searing, hot-rodded tone that made Living Colour stand out from the glam bands at the time and it still sounds good while other bands sound dated by comparison.

Does anyone know what gear Vernon played around the late 80's/ early 90's "Time's Up" period. I don't think the Roland VG-88 and GR-50 multi-fx were out yet and Crate Blue Voodoo didn't exist at the time, which is what he plays now. Anyone know?
