Members Vishykc
Hello everyone, I have been singing contemporary songs for 3 years (very bad) and 2 years classical now. I'm very proud with my progress, but wanna know how god or bad it is now and how can I improve. I love metal and hard rock. Classical singing can help me with this, right? I love classical the most though. There is Lonely day by System of a down (favourite) and I have tried Let it go octave lower as a very challenging song to sing. Thanks! http://vocaroo.com/i/s1jIS5HEqsIw - Lonely day http://vocaroo.com/i/s0sSUIjvCOG7 - Let it go

Moderators davie Posted July 19, 2017 Moderators Share Posted July 19, 2017 Had a listen. I agree with DM that you're on the pitchy side. I think you need more focus with your tone to hone in on the right pitch. Also if the original song is out of your range I don't necessarily recommend pitching it down a whole octave. Try experimenting with the key of the song by adjusting a few whole steps instead until you find your most comfortable key to sing in.
Members Life888
it sounds quite off pitch and unpleasant. your voice sounds way louder than the music in the background also. its important to find the right balance between the music you are "hearing" and the music you are singing. if the music is too quiet, then its almost impossible for you to hear the music while your singing, so it affects how pitchy you are. if the music is too loud, then you cant hear voice enough so you end up singing way too hard and hurt your voice. to improve the pitchiness, you dont even need music in the background, just use the keyboard and play the notes and match them with your voice in isolation.
