First off...

What areas of your singing are you trying to improve?

What do you feel needs work and why do you think that?

What type of perfoming are you trying to do?

there are many areas that can be improved, but I would have to know what your trying to do in order to point you in the right direction.

Been singing Pro most of my life (58) and here's what I know.

- Singing in groups (choruses, choirs, etc) developes the EAR which is certainly the MOST IMPORTANT thing you'll need for good singing. If you don't hear it (correctly or completely) you won't sing it (ditto).

- Never sing out of your own key... NEVER strain, it'll ruin a good vocal setup.

- No dairy products before singing. I like room temp suff but find no prob with warm (not TOO hot) or cold drinks.

- personally, I have learned to sing with a "Halls" tucked neatly behind my upper right molar. That and a water bottle keep away the drymouth on stage.

hope some of this stuff is usefull...

sing well...

J. Slick (giggin' since '66) and lovin' it.

ps-just finished putting together a local Blues/Soul band (the Boogiemen).

Now the practice fun begins!
