Members Janglebones
Hello, My daughter is in her 5th year of band, currently 9th grade, and has played clarinet for this whole period. She is interested in moving to bass clarinet, and I was wondering if anyone could point out some decent brands, or brands to avoid. Thanks for any help. Members sunburstbasser
I would suggest starting by seeing if the school has one to rent. I'm sure you already noticed, but bass clarinets are very expensive. That said, Selmer woodwinds have been well regarded for a long time.
Members tomgreeny
On the subject of new clarinets, i could do with a clarinet in A, i have been playing the Bb but could do with one in A to play a lot of the duets with piano as a large amount are written for clarinet in A. Cheers any ideas will be great
Members Janglebones
Thanks for the input, we did end up renting one from the school, a much more "finance friendly" option.
