These are fantastic venues to pic' all night long, learn new tunes, talk to the old timers about their tunes, and just have a lot of fun. Most of the ones I am aware of are in the southeast, tho I know they have them all over. But for the trueness of the old time fiddle tunes, nothing beats learning from someone who has never had a lesson and is willing to be patient and teach you a tune or two. I'm going to try to post some stuff from last week's Galax Old Fiddler's Convention in Galax, VA. I've been here several times, have placed in harmonica twice. Great people, a lot of fun, and held on the campus of Athens State College, Athens, Alabama.
