They changed half of mine too. They went from very specific to more general. Now they say I'm 20% Irish and 80% Great Britain. Gone are the Dutch, German and Iberian Peninsula percentages. But if you look at the map, what's circled and labeled Great Britain encompasses the Netherlands, Germany and a big chunk of France. They're saying they have more data now. I don't really care except I have a German name. I'm gonna celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Cinco De Mayo as well.

I yam what I yam, a relative recently showed me results conflicting with expectations of family history etc.

I already know where my family is from. And no way I'm sending my DNA into the bowels of the internet to be poked and prodded.

That's what I come here for!

That's what I come here for!

Same here. My dad's first cousin is a PhD historian and academic guru and traced our family roots on the Italian side back to Sicily. He even went there to do more research, my dad said he went back to like the 1200's.

The Irish part of me I traced back to the early 1800, and the English part back to the late 1700's.

My family lived in NY, VT, NH and MA. You don't get more Yankee roots than me.

My mom's dad lived in CA for a long time. I met him when I was like 12. He was an inventor. I'm not sure he ever made a dime off his patents.
