Mosquitoes, ticks, the Ebola virus, yeah, the performance review is a little sketchy.

Without knowing specifically what their insurance covers we're stuck speculating. That said, the fact that five insurance companies have all refused to pay would indicate that they probably don't.

Kinda shows you ,that even big companies, investors & property owners can get caught by the fine print of the insurance policy exclusion trickery. Gotta read that policy!!!!

It's just really sad that God didn't write those insurance policies, or better yet, just sent the mudslides back to California. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Now, if the structure itself had been damaged by flood, does anyone think the insurance response would have been different?

I have a couple of theories about the water damage. Perhaps God allowed the excessive water damage to occur to voice his disapproval of the ark's construction site. Or, he was going to wipe it out with a tornado, but changed his mind and decided that damaging the surrounding area would be sufficient.

...which brings up the question - why would such a righteous organization need insurance in the first place?

Pretty feasible.....and coincides with my theory, that, despite the evangelicals, God gave us trump, as a punishment....and now He sees that, even that isn't working to correct our wayward path. He probably isn't happy that all those evangelicals completely got His message wrong.....enter your theory.

Scientific evidence developed over recent time suggest a cometary impact 12000 years ago on the North American ice sheet (think of the shoemaker-levy impact on Jupiter also known as The String of Pearls) melted much of the ice. huge amounts a freshwater flowed quickly into the North Atlantic, substantially raising sea levels in a very short time span while also being associated with the Curious age known as the Younger Dryas, where temperatures plunged for a thousand years.

the Great Lakes is thought to be the remnant of that meltwater.

the dust debris and vaporized particles raised into the atmosphere are thought to have been the agent of reflecting sunlight which caused the temperatures to plunge again for a thousand years.

this could well be the origin of all of the various worldwide flood stories. Of course the entire planet was not covered with water.

but the sudden release of water which had been locked up in ice caps as much as two miles thick was certainly enough to flood many coastal regions.

                              Amen?

That's a possibility, but not to the point of "Amen"'.
Isn't that just one of the various theories that exist? It's kinda like the use of the theory about the extended warming period, during the Ice Age, that was theoretically caused by slight changes in the Earths orbit.
It is said that modern science is in it's infancy. Personally, I don't look to an infant to accurately explain the complexity of creation or evolution.
Theoretical science does qualify as entertaining conjecture though.
