I agree its a risk that comes with the territory, though i'd wager the risk/benefit factor is far more positive than not reading at all.

This is still a baseless premise - any thinking person should clearly see why.

If I custom order a new truck and have Ford build it for me, this does not mean that I own or control the means of production. The PURCHASER of the product does not OWN nor CONTROL the MEANS OF PRODUCTION.

Why do you continue to repeat this when it is so obviously nonsensical? Do you own or control a dairy farm because you buy a gallon of milk?

                    Lease this space!

Your attempt to channel AOC is not really the best way to attack this butt whopping you're getting. Doubling down on stupid. Yes, I used the S word. "stupid" is when you are ignorant of something that you should know. And at this point in the thread, you should know. It's time for you to, as AOC would say, "move on".

A rocket is a vehicle, like a jet fighter or a tank. It isn’t a “means of production.” The factories where it was built are the means of production. The companies that make those vehicles in a socialist system would be state-owned / state-controlled; the companies that made the Saturn V are not. BIG difference.

Besides, today, NASA is moving ever more towards private exploration efforts. Ever heard of SpaceX, Virgin Galactic, etc.?

You have tried to make your point multiple times, but no matter how many times you insist on repeating it, it doesn’t make it any more correct than the first time you said it.

Frankly, I just don't bother to read. I figure anyone who goes out of their way to make their posts more difficult to read, the content can't be very important

Aside from the fact that at this point, no one is going to go back and read the kinds of books being discussed here, Grumpy Polecat is correct: the terms, contexts, backgrounds,e tc will not be understood. Meaning has always been subject to 'arbitration' and spin, and with social media and 'fake news', the problem is even more extreme (or absurd, if you like).

The current situation is a bit like after the Romans left Britain - the natives soon forgot anything about them and assumed the villas, baths and so forth must have been built by giants or spirits because they had no understanding and the remains of Roman civilization were irrelevant to their current lives.
