If someone is condescending to a Trump supporter it’s because, first of all, they aren’t being very polite. Secondly it’s because they find it incredibly difficult to understand how someone can witness this presidency and still support it. It would seem to require either outright ignorance, extreme cognitive dissonance, or a lack of a substantial grasp of reality and how the world works. Or all of the above.

The fact that this is even a thing - is a national disgrace.

How many times will Trump lie in his national address? I don't know; take the number of sentences he says and multiply by two. Assuming he can speak in complete sentences. That's been a challenge for him.

I’m pretty sure nobody - not even Daryl or Yumpy or whatever RobRoy is calling himself these days is betting actual money on ‘zero.’

        Please don’t make alt accusations...

Daryl is in CA, yumpy is in Asia, and Rob is somewhere else. They are not all the same person.

Colbert mentioned that over/under in yesterday's monologue, then said, "my fellow Americans" should be the first lie.

His delivery was hilarious. I don't have the exact wording, but the crowd response was strong. Late night comedy will suffer when the big baby is gone.

Well, from where I sit, the 'line' was pretty obvious, which by default makes it a somewhat less-than-superb joke. While it is possible that he 'wrote' it, it needs to be understood that the role he plays is always accompanied by a staff of joke writers, each of whom may think they are the funniest thing since sliced Costello. Or Marx. Or Milligan.

Bottom line is that it's really not that funny, and it's certainly not terribly original.

If it gave someone a chuckle though, I guess it was as good as it needed to be.
