  • Did Trump accomplish anything in Singapore?

Based on what Trump and the Republicans say the Trump/Un summit was the second coming of the Malta Conference. Dems and Lefties say that Trump gave up a lot (cessation of War Games and lightening of sanctions, and maybe more) and got basically nothing in return, except the agreement to meet again. Trump called Un a "great negotiator." Is that Trump's way of saying Un won? Where is the truth?

Legitimacy as a World Leader for Kim. Who he really likes and knows loves his people.

Donald Trump: "There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea."

RobRoy: "There is an "honest grit" to his lying."

There are days when I really can't tell if I'm losing touch with reality, or if reality is losing touch with me.

Trump signed another paper and got to hold it up for the cameras, like his signing statements.

        The show must go on.
George Washington was the man who never told a lie. Richard Nixon was the man who never told the truth. Donald Trump is the man who doesn't know the difference.
Venezuela is what happens when you have Trump without the Madison.

Kim is germaphobic and/or paranoid, as he wouldn't touch the special pen that Donald had on hand for him to use. The foxy Kim sister loaned him one of hers.

He managed to elevate a isolated and marginalized brutal dictator to respected world leader status. That’s a good thing - right?

Well he has gotten more done with that country since the original cease fire. You can blame Truman for that friggin mess, trying to turn it into a police action. After that Eisenhower simply barricaded them in.

No other president wanted to deal with them. The few who tried got raped so they simply gave up trying. They knew they didn't have the graduates to deal with them and didn't want to take the political gambles of actually starting a war.

You can bust Trump all day long, you can hate the man even but the man shot dice and he got the ball rolling on something there.
Its what you call the end of the beginning and that's about it. Its going to take YEARS for any kind of peace and normalization to begin working. People are going to be sick of hearing about it by then and will only recognize how things have improved when they look back on it in retrospect.

In the meantime it seems the lefts propaganda media is busy erasing as much as they can from getting into the history books. Its a matter of survival for them at this point. Their narrative up to this point has been, trump couldn't possibly pull this off, which makes them all look like ass clowns. They're even complaining about us suspending war games which saves us millions.

Maybe its a good thing Dems are abandoning peace making as one of their central core values. Their hate for Trump shows they haven't got what it takes to be civil with their enemies and create the peace treaties needed. We cant afford the lame assed approach Obama used with Iran either. You are dealing with dictators who rule with an iron fist. They don't have the ability or desire to rule any other way. You cant simply hand them 150 Billion dollars and expect results.

You literally have to carry a big stick and make them choose between getting beat by it or taking the carrot you dangle. Its a very simply black and white logic with nothing in between. You either show them you have the will and the power to follow through or you don't sit down at the table and try and play the game. They do not respect you, nor take your seriously otherwise.

I realize for many educated people in the west simply cannot fathom this being the proper approach when dealing dictators, but its not like we are reinventing the wheel here. Man has a long history of dictatorships and how they must be handled is pretty cut and dry. You cannot negotiate with them the same as you would a collective democracy. You are negotiating with a "single person" and you have to use all the tactics including flattery, bribery and all the things repugnant to a free people when you work with them. Its the only way you get close enough to them to use that big stick when its needed.

Trump-style appeasement isn't the proper approach.

When you give something in a negotiation, you are supposed to receive something of equal value.

Yep. the left's frantic-frothing response to Trump actually establishing, and making progress on N. Korea denuclearization and possible end to the Korean war is comedy gold.

The thing is, they have zero credibility when it comes to N. Korea since Clinton, and Obama actually advanced their nuclear program for them.

                  Bush was ineffectual as well.

Remember when Obama wanted to do the same thing? I wish the search function worked on this forum.

                      Ummm..okay...

Anyhoo, Trump did it, Obama, Clinton, Bush didn't.

Tell me again where multi-lateral talks got us with NK?

Successful tests of missiles and nuclear warheads....that's where.
