  • Karl Marx the father of the progressive left

Interesting fellow. In his early writings he said stuff like this.

“Through love of Christ we turn our hearts at the same time toward our brethren who are inwardly bound to us and for whom he gave himself in sacrifice.”

Later on he wrote more like this.

“The idea of God is the keynote of a perverted civilization. It must be destroyed.”

    Now that's more like it!

We all owe a great debt to both Marx and Lennon.

good thread for those who like their history on a post-it note and unencumbered by honesty or integrity.
To you I'm an atheist; but to God, I'm the Loyal Opposition.

The op realizes that our nation was founded on progressivism. Not leftism, right?
Conservatism is the real enemy of the people.

Progressism is at the core of why humanity became a top tier predator. It's also at the heart of all technology, art, science, creature comforts, and about everything else.

The irony is that progressive ideas (like the elimination of slavery, giving the vote to females etc.) become accepted eventually by conservatives.

So if asked the key difference between progressives and conservatives, the correct answer is 50 to 100 years.

Joe Walsh played guitar on It Don't Mean Nothing by Richard Marx.

Not the best song in the world, but I always like Walsh's playing.
