Members zanshin777
1) There is an agent in my country (Turkey) to protect rights of musicians. You should pay yearly to be protected. Does protecting the rights of a musician work in the same way in your country? 2) Are there other methods? For example if I upload my songs to internet (Youtube etc.) can I get protection for my materials?
Moderators daddymack Posted April 5, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 5, 2016 In the USA we have 'copyright protection', which is just a matter of formally registering your work for a small fee [and then trying to prove your case in court for a lot more money], licensing processes, and Performing Rights Organizations like BMI and ASCAP, to whom you pay an annual membership fee. Please take a look at the sticky threads at the top of this forum related to Copyright 101, Music License Primer and ASCAP/BMI/SESAC/SoundExchange. They may answer some of your questions. Unfortunately, international laws are very different and I can't speak to the variations as I only am familiar with USA processes.
