Anyone have experience with selling Albums through a foreign distributor?

I was contacted by a japanese music distributor/magazine publisher inquiring whether I would sell them a small wholesale quantity of my albums.

I already have my albums available digitally and from CDbaby. It appears that this distributor is focused on the relevant style of music, which is a niche market.

Does anyone have experience with a similar venture?

Im the proverbial babe in the woods when it comes to this, particularly what are the standard practices and terms.

What is a reasonable price to charge for a wholesale cd to such a distributor?

What are the typical payment terms and practices?

Anything to look out for?

Any and all advice is appreciated!

Yes, but we distribute music worldwide, about 85% in digital form. CDA are pressed when an artist gets into the focus of a larger audience, gets a lot of attention and we see that putting a compact disc on the market will at least pay the marketing effort and cost of pressing.

for Japan you should charge about 6 USD per compact disc, in advance & shipping fee, and in the contract a § which states that public briadcasting pays royalties, and mechanical too

and you ask them first for how much they sell your CD in Japan, then you can calculate if you can charge more, or less
