Members pdiddy
Wow, this must be my lucky day. Just received my own personal invitation to join the growing number of sites and services that use music to enhance their appeal. And just $340 a year!Assuming this is about the dozen or so (cover) clips my function band has on our website that apparently are taking the internet by storm. Anyone else received their invitation yet? How would you handle it?
Members Johnny-Boy
I'd pass. In fact, I think I received the email a couple days ago and deleted it without reading it. John
Members pdiddy
This was no email - big envelope with 2 page cover letter and 3 contract options included.

Members pdiddy
I don't think this is junk-mail and I don't think this is a joke. I think this is a relatively new tactic (income generator) to go after cover bands that post demo samples on their websites. I suspect the next correspondance will be to pay up or remove the mp3s. Like every coverband in the country has mp3s on their sites, right?
Members pdiddy
Looks like we are going to be on the hook for a license or the cover tunes gotta come off the website per the ASCAP rep. They are indeed surfing band websites looking for "on demand performances".
