          - You Make My Dreams (H&O)
          - I Knew the Bride (for a wedding)

A bit of a lull coming up and we are looking at learning some new songs.

I was looking specifically for 80s songs that had male and female vocals and keyboards (and maybe sax)

I though Opposites Attract would be fun, great funky groove for that tune.

I just got picked up by a band that does country, do wop older rock and some pop. I have been learning the set list Things i found. Crazy little thing call love, by queen. The lion sleeps tonight. Its pretty vocal heavy band. This should be fun. 5 piece with a stand alone front man. Got about 90 songs to learn. Music here is a moving target as new younger winter people fill up the RV parks so i expect to for them to pick up some latter 60s rock to keep up with the demo.

The band i am going to be working with does a bunch of work for RV parks full of retired people. You try to keep the music in their wheelhouse. Younger people are 62/65 and just retired. The good part is that you are seeing this music show up on tv from the 60s in TV adds so this stuff is getting re cycled to younger people as well. Its a matter of playing stuff they grew up with.

Hey there! Long time no see! I thought about you a couple of weeks ago during the hurricane. Are you still in SPI? How did everyone fare down there?

Now. It has been noted (primarily by me LOL) that we are pretty light on the latter half of the 80s. In particular while we did plug a a bit of a hole in 1985, 1988 and 1989 are VERY sparse.

                        Looking for suggestions

Edit: Criteria: In addition to the year, it must be danceable. We have both male and female lead vocalists, guitar, bass, drums, keys (up to 3 players) and sax.

I have done some of these in a previous band but I am wondering how each of these go over. I would love to resurrect Goody Two Shoes in particular in my current band.

G2Shoes, Melt, and Friday I'm in Love gets the women and men singing and dancing. Never Tear Us Apart and Turning Japanese don't go over quite as well and we have not played them for several gigs. Been playing Cheap Trick's "Hello There" to begin our first set lately. Added RS's "Bitch", not my favorite, and keyboardist wants to add more Depeche Mode. My advice, select songs that women enjoy and you will get a good following.

Keys/guitar/drums trio. Week from Thursday; no rehearsal. I'd play it with just the drummer, who I played with a couple weeks ago, but they want a "full band".
