Members macane Posted March 16, 2006 Members Share Posted March 16, 2006 Hey I have a marshall 9200 with 5881 tubes in it been playing I wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which type of tubes I could replace them with?Has anyone replaced all of the tubes, pre amp tubes and power tubes, what brand and with what result tonewise?Any catches that i need to be aware of? Also if i was to replace the tube jmp-1 pre-amp what would be a good choice i wanted just a tad more gain. Thanks in advance for all help anyone can give. Members Cougar Hunter Posted March 16, 2006 Members Share Posted March 16, 2006 JJ 6L6's will smooth it out in a good way if your are running into an unbearable brightness with the 5881's however, you will have to leave the top panel off to use the JJ's.
