Members CptnMayonaise
does running a preamp through an amps effects loop sound like ass? im curiuos, cause i love fender cleans and their reverb, but i wanna slap some toneful, various high gain tones from a JMP-1. idoes it color the tone of the preamp a lot? or could it work pretty well? Members Gorgon90
You'd probably want to use either the amp's preamp or the JMP-1 rather than using the JMP-1 in series with the amp's preamp by putting it in the effects loop. Depending on the effects loop returning to the input of the power amp (normally the case), then having some sort of switching/routing system before the preamps should work: Guitar to A/B switcher to Amp preamp or JMP-1 to Amp power amp stage. You'd probably also want to switch the JMP-1 out of the fx loop signal path if using the amp's preamp to avoid colouration of the sound.
